The Health Section offers ii different complimentary courses on rat management at its "Rat Academy":

Community Training: This gratis three-60 minutes course is open to anyone who wants to acquire nearly rat management.

Pest Control Professionals: This iii-day avant-garde course for pest control professionals focuses on the biology and behaviors of rats.

Community Training Course

Yous can larn about prophylactic and constructive methods for rat prevention in your home and community at one of our scheduled free trainings. This three-hour preparation is available to everyone, but it may be peculiarly helpful for:

Superintendents and edifice staff
Holding managers and owners
Neighborhood associations
Community gardeners
Local businesses

Each training tin can be tailored to the audition and neighborhood. Typically, this training grade is hosted and sponsored by a community partner or elected official.

Intensive Training Course for Pest Control Professionals

Upcoming Courses

This three-day course is offered twice a year — in one case in spring and once in fall. Each 24-hour interval, class is held from viii:thirty a.1000. to 5 p.thousand. Courses are usually held in downtown Manhattan. Specific information will be announced every bit the course's start date approaches.

This course teaches pest control professionals nearly:

Biological science, beliefs and habitats of rats
Contributing factors to infestation
Site-specific responses and strategies
Effective communication strategies with the public

Courses are express to near 35 students per session. No more than two employees per company may nourish a unmarried session. We recommend visitor supervisors, managers and owners nourish the grade and then pass along the data to their employees. It is not designed for new hire training.

To receive a certificate of completion, participants must nourish all three days of the grade, complete all the assigned piece of work and laissez passer a final exam. Class graduates may also receive eighteen to 21 continuing education credits from the New York State Section of Environmental Conservation.
